Këtë sezon janë zhvilluar vetëm 4 gara, por kjo nuk ka penguar mediat të ndezin zërat e merkatos së pilotëve që tani.
Orët e fundit është folur për mundësinë e kalimit të Sebastian Vettel te Mercedesi në vitin 2018, madje është nënshkruar edhe një kontratë paraprake mes palëve dhe ai që e ka deklaruar këtë është Eddie Jordan, në një intervistë për të përditshmen gjermane “Bild”.
“Sigurisht që Mercedesi është në bisedime me Vettelin. Duhet të jetë kështu. Formula 1 është një biznes i pamëshirshëm, pasi nuk bëhet fjalë vetëm që të përforcohesh vetë, por duhet të dobësosh edhe kundërshtarin”, tha Jordan.
Në lidhje me këtë çështje ka reaguar edhe Presidenti i Nderit i Mercedesit, Niki Lauda, i cili, në vend që të shuajë këto zëra, i ka ndezur akoma më shumë edhe pse në mënyrë jo të drejtpërdrejtë.
“Vettel është në momentin e tij më të mirë dhe nuk flet shumë, ndërkohë që punon. Ai e di shumë mirë çfarë dëshiron, i njeh mirë pikat e veta ku ai kërkon të mbështetet për të marrë maksimumin. Është një pilot i jashtëzakonshëm”, tha Lauda.
Ndërkaq, vetë Sebastian Vettel preferon të mos prononcohet në lidhje me të ardhmen e tij. Kryesuesi i Botërorit aktual të Formulës 1 ka deklaruar se është pjesë e Ferrarit dhe se në këtë moment mendon vetëm për këtë skuadër.
