Përfaqësuesja e Kosovës në tenis për femra nuk do të marr pjesë në Fed Cup të këtij viti që mbahet në Moldavi në ditët në vijim.
Pjesëmarrjen e ekipit të Kosovës e ndaloi shteti i Moldavisë si organizator i Fed Cup të Grupit III të zonës së Europës dhe Afrikës.
Në arsyetimin e dhënë nga Federata e Tenisit të Moldavisë thuhet se përkundër përpjekjeve të mëdha të tyre si federatë nuk kanë arritur të i bindin zyrtarët qeveritarë moldavë të i japin viza hyrëse ekipit të Kosovës me arsyetim se shteti i Moldavisë nuk e ka pranuar Kosovën si shtet.
“Me këtë është bërë shkelje flagrante e rregullores së organizimit të garave nën ombrellën e Federatës Ndërkombëtare të Tenisit (ITF). ITF si mbikqyrës i ngjarjes më të madhe ekipore të shteteve siç është Fed Cup, me restin e nënshkrimit të memorandumit me shtetin organizator që në këtë rast është Moldavia kërkon që të i lejohet pjesëmarrja të gjitha shteteve pa asnjë kushtëzim”, thuhet në njoftimin e Federatës së Tenisit të Kosovës.
“Moldavia nuk iu përmbajt kësaj rregulloreje duke i bërë padrejtësi të madhe përfaqësueses së Kosovës në tenis për femra. Përfaqësuesja e Kosovës ishte e përbërë nga teniste shumë të mira kosovare që karrierën e tyre në tenis e zhvillojnë në shtetet europiane. Donika Bashota, Adrijana Lekaj dhe Lirigzona Murati së bashku me tenisten më të mirë nga Kosova, Blearta Ukëhaxhaj, nën udhëheqjen e trajnerit Arben Islami kishin dëshirë të madhe për të përfaqësuar Kosovën në Fed Cup. Kjo ëndërr e tyre fatkeqësisht nuk iu realizua për shkak të veprimeve diskriminuese dhe ofenduese të një shteti si Moldavia”, thuhet më tej.
Kosova vitin e kaluar ka marrë pjesë për herë të pare në Fed Cup që u mbajtë në Ulqin ku pati treguar rezultat shumë të mirë duke triumfuar në 2 takime kundër Islandës dhe Mozambikut.
