Carlo Tavecchio është rizgjedhur sot presidenti i Federatës Italiane të Futbollit (figc) për një mandat të dytë, duke fituar me 54% të votave, pasi u deshën tre raunde votimesh për ta mposht rivalin e tij Carlo Abodi.
Plani i tij prej 11-pikash, në thelb kishte si objektiv kryesor ndryshimin e strukturës së kampionateve të futbollit në Itali, duke filluar nga Seria A. Tavecchio ka në plan që të mbajë kampionatin me 20 skuadra, por të ndryshojë kuotën e rënies, duke e bërë që në fund të sezonit vetëm dy të bien në Serie B.
Ndërkaq, Serie B, gradualisht duhet të kalojë në 20 skuadra, me dy që ngjiten në A dhe tri që bien në Lega Pro. Niveli i tretë i futbollit italian do të pësojë ndryshe rrënjësore ku ndarja e 40 skuadrave në dy grupe është vetëm hapi i parë.
Klubeve të Serie A do t’u jepet mundësia që të regjistrojnë skuadrat B në Lega Pro, por pa të drejtën e ngjitjes apo rënies nga kjo kategori, në mënyrë që të kenë mundësinë të përgatitin vetë futbollistët e të ardhmes dhe jo të huazojnë me dhjetëra lojtarë çdo vit në klube të tjera.
Ndërkaq, pjesë e planit është edhe ndërthurja e Fair Play Financiar për të gjitha klubet profesioniste, duke filluar nga sezoni 2018-2019.
