Në stadiumin e mbushur me kapacitet të plot, 29-vjeçari dhuroi spektakël përpara, gjatë dhe pas garës. Duke bërë shaka, dhuroi buzëqeshje për publikun dhe i shkeli syrin telekameras.
Një qetësi olimpike, sikur të mos ishte finalja që i dhuroi medaljen e tetë të artë dhe të ishte fitues i tre edicioneve radhazi të garave të 100 dhe 200 metrave, arritje që askush nuk e kishte realizuar më parë.
Mes ankthit të përgjithshëm, Usain Bolt e nisi arratisjen prej kthesës. I lehtë dhe i fort njëkohësisht. Thjesht i pakapshëm. Në finish arriti pas 19 sekondave e 78 të qindtave, një rezultat mjaft i mirë duke pasur parasysh rreshjet e lehta dhe lagështinë.
Pas xhamajkanit u rendit kanadezi De Grasse, fituesi i medaljes së argjendtë, ndërsa bronzi shkoi për francezi Lemaitre.
Pas duartrokitjeve nga publiku, të gjithë thirrën emrin e tij. Bolt u ul në gjunjë përpara fotografëve, realizoi një selfie mes tifozëve xhamajkanë, puthi pistën dhe në fund pozoi në mënyrën e tij.
Usain Bolt mbetet mbreti i atletikës dhe në Rio 2016 mund të fitojë medaljen e tretë të artë, atë në stafetën 4×100. Nuk dihet nëse do të jetë e fundit, apo nëse do ta provojë edhe në Olimpiadën e Japonisë, Tokio 2020.

“Po plakem, trupi nuk më përgjigjej si dëshiroja. Mendoj se kjo ishte gara ime e fundit në 200 metra, edhe pse trajneri e mendon ndryshe. Nuk kam më asgjë për të treguar. Çfarë duhet të bëj më tepër për të qenë një prej më të mëdhenjve”.
