Shetetet e Bashkuara djersitën shumë për këtë fitore, por falë talentit të Diana Taurasi e Maya Moore që shënuan 18 respektivisht 15 pikë, amerikanet shkaun në finale. Për Francën më e mira ishte Isabelle Yacoubou, që e mbylli ndeshjen em 14 pikë.
Francezet u shfaqen si të barabarta gjatë 20 minutave të para, duke luajtur pa frikë, pavarësisht emrit që kishin përballë. Pjesën e parë amerikanet e mbyllën me vetëm 4 pikë avantazh, por diferenca u bë në periodën e tretë me një rezultat të pjesshëm 25-9 për Shtetet e Bashkuara.
Franca nuk hoqi dorë në periudhën e fundit, duke realizuar 2 pikë më shumë se amerikanet, por diferenca prej 21 pikësh e krijuar në fund të periodës së tretë thjesht u reduktua në 19 pikë.
Në finale Shtete e Bashkuara do të përballen me Spanjën, që eliminoi Serbinë me rezultat 68:54.
