Lajm i trishtueshëm për të gjithë apasionuarit pas sportit. Në moshën 100-vjecare është ndarë nga jeta ish presidenti i Fifas, Joao Havelange. Braziliani vuante nga një sëmundje në mushkri prej disa kohësh. Lajmi për ndarjen nga jeta të Havelange u bë i ditur nga mediat braziliane. Ish presidenti i Fifas mbylli sytë për herë të fundit në një spital të Rio De Janieros. Havelange i lindur në datën 8 Maj të vitit 1916 në rininë e tij ka qenë një notar por edhe një lojtar i sportit të Waterpolos duke marrë pjesë në Lojrat Olimpike, Berlin 1936 dhe Helsinki 1952.
Kulmin në karrierë Havelange e arriti në vitin 1974 kur emerua president i Fifas. Ai është presidenti i dytë pas francezit Jules Rimet që ka qëndruar më gjatë në krye të qeverisë së futbollit Botëror për plot 24 vite. Havelange ka qenë gjithashtu presidenti i federatës braziliane si dhe president i komitetit olimpik brazilian. Ai ishte një nga personat që bëri përpjekje të mëdha në mënyrë që qyteti i tij Rio De Janiero të fitonte të drejtën për të organizuar Lojrat Olimpike të vitit 2016-të.
