Italia nuk ka qenë një territor i favorshëm për lojtarët spanjoll, pasi ka pasur pak raste të lojtarëve që kanë mundur të shkëlqejnë në Serie A. Nëse kthehemi shumë vit emrapa për të parë legjenda të mëdha si Luis Suárez (Inter Milan), Luis del Sol (Juventus) dhe Joaquín Peiró (Torino), nuk arritën të lënë gjurmë në skuadrat respektive.
Kështu, gjatë viteve ’80 kaluan nëpër Serie A, Víctor Muñoz (Sampdoria), Ricardo Gallego (Udinese) dhe Martín Vázquez (Torino), me eksperienca të shkurtra dhe pa treguar performancën e pritshme. Diçka e ngjashme ka ndodhur në fund të viteve ’90 dhe fillimi i vitit 2000, ku paradën e emrave përfshinin Ivan De la Peña dhe Gaizka Mendieta (Lazio), José Mari dhe Javi Moreno (Milan) dhe Javier Farinos (Inter) ), Ivan Helguera (Romë) ose Pep Guardiola (Brescia dhe Roma).
Por tani tendenca për të luajtur suksesshëm në Itali, duket të jetë përmbysur, pasi ka disa lojtarë të lindur në Spanjë, kanë role të rëndësishme në disa nga ekipet më të mëdha në Serie A. Filluar me Napoli , ku tre përfaqësuesit spanjoll kanë arritur statusin e lojtarëve kryesor : Pepe Reina, Raúl Albiol dhe José Callejón janë shumë të rëndësishme në planet e Maurizio Sarri, te një skuadër që po bën mrekulli gjatë këtij edicioni në Serie A.
Në radhët e Milanit është Suso , i cili me 6 gola në 21 ndeshje është një nga liderët e klubit italian. Në një situatë të ngjashme kemi edhe Luis Alberto , i cili është duke triumfuar në Lazio me golat dhe asistimet në sezonin e tij të dytë në Serie A, madje ai ka shkuar deri në pikën që Julen Lopetegui e ka thirrur të luajë për Kombëtaren e Spanjës.
Lista nuk përfundon këtu me lojtarë tjerë të cilët janë pika kyqe në Serie A , mos të harrojmë Iago Falque (Torino) dhe Borja Valero (Inter Milan), të dy të rëndësishëm në skuadrat e tyre dhe po bëjnë një rrugëtim të suksesshëm në futbollin italian.
