Kampioni i Kosovës në futboll, Ballkani do të paraqitet në fazën e plejofit të Ligës së Konferencës. Ballkani e ka kaluar me sukses raundin e tretë kualifikues të kësaj gare, pasi edhe në ndeshjen e kthimit e mposhti skuadrën e Lincolnit. Në duelin e luajtur të enjten në “Victoria Stadium” Ballkani triumfoi me rezultatin e ngushtë 3:1.

Meriton Korenica, Edvin Kuç dhe Qëndrim Zyba shënuan golat për ta konfirmuar kalimin e Ballkanit tutje. Kështu, Ballkani avancoi në plejof me rezultatin e përgjithshëm 5:1 pasi në ndeshjen e parë të luajtur javën e shkuar në Prishtinë, kishte triumfuar 2:0 ndaj Lincolnit. Për Ballkanin, kjo është fitorja e katërt në po aq ndeshje të luajtura në fazën kualifikues të Ligës së Konferencës. Dy fitore i shënoi edhe në raundin e dytë, në të cilin e eliminoi Larnen e Irlandës së Veriut.

Në plejof, Ballkani do të përballet me humbësin e ndeshjes të raundit të tretë kualifikues të Ligës së Evropës, që luhet ndërmjet Sheriff Tiraspolit dhe BATE Borisovit. Sipas të gjitha gjasave, Ballkani në plejof do të luaj kundër BATE-s nga Bejllorusia, ekip që ndeshjen e parë e ka humbur nga Sheriffi me rezultatin e thellë 5:1.

Sa i përket duelit të kthimit në Gjibraltar, Ballkani dominoi totalisht Lincolnin dhe lëshoi raste të shumta shënimi, sidomos në pjesën e parë. Pjesa e parë u mbyll pa gola, por Ballkani rreshtoi rastet. Me të filluar ndeshja, Nazmi Gripshi e qëlloi shtyllën në minutën e 7-të. Dhjetë minuta më vonë, Lincolni tentoi nëpërmjet mesfushorit Yahaya, gjuajtjen e të cilit nga distanca e ndali pa telashe portieri Enea Koliçi. Albin Berisha (29’) dështoi përball portierit, ndërsa dy raste të mira i lëshoi edhe Almir Kryeziu në minutat e fundit të pjesës së parë. Në minutat shtesë, tentoi edhe Korenica me kokë nga afërsia por qëlloi portierin.

Megjithatë, me të filluar pjesa e dytë, Ballkani zhbllokoi rezultatin. Në minutën e 48-të, Korenica shënoi gol fantastik me një gjuajtje të fortë prej rreth 20 metrave pas asistimit të Gripshit. Epërsinë e dyfishoi kapiteni Kuç, i cili shënoi pas asistimit të Bleart Tolajt në minutën e 64-t. Dy minuta më vonë, Lincolni e shënoi golin e nderit me anë të rezervisti Juampe. Ndërkohë, rezultatin përfundimtar të takimit, e vulosi Zyba që shënoi në minutën e tetë të kohës shtesë.

Pasi u kualifikua në plejof, Ballkani është larg vetëm dy ndeshje për ta përsëritur suksesin e edicionit të kaluar, të paraqitet në fazën e grupeve të Ligës së Konferencës. Për ta bërë këtë, Ballkani duhet ta eliminojë edhe kundërshtarin e radhës.

Edicionin e shkuar, Ballkani u bë ekipi i parë kosovar që luajti në fazën e grupeve të njërës prej tri garave të UEFA-s.
